How do MAPANDGIS and noise3D compare ?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

noise3D and MAPANDGIS are both products of Kramer Schalltechnik GmbH in the field of noise control engineering. Both leverage the same well known and proven calculation engine. So, why do we offer different products that deliver similar functionality in the same business field.

The key difference of the products is the different applicability in your practical engineering work. While noise3D is easy to learn with fast success in many noise control projects MAPANDGIS targets engineers that have to address very complex industrial situations typically managed by larger engineering offices. The following table explains the material differences of the products.

More Details about noise3D

noise3D is the intuitive tool which can be deployed with less introduction. Calculation of sound propagation outdoor with noise3D™ is straight forward. The CAD type interface provided by SketchUp allows the user “to see what you get”. The 3D noise control model placed into a terrain allows you to verify very intuitively that all objects have been defined correctly, there will be less issue with incorrect heights or distances. The model can be turned around and viewed from different perspectives to verify that everything is ok before proceeding with the calculation process.

With noise3D you will see progress much faster.

More Details about MAPANDGIS

Modelling And Prediction of Air Pollution and Noise Data Management with Geographic Information System

You may wish to deploy a solution for very complex noise engineering projects, a tool that has capabilities required for complex and large industrial situations. MAPANDGIS includes a powerful GIS based user interface for calculating of sound propagation and air pollution. The GIS interface is an integral part of MAPANDGIS and has been refined to the specific requirements of noise control engineering. Leveraging a GIS system results from MAPANDGIS calculations can be presented, edited and further processed in may different ways. In addition, the noise control engineering model can be presented in 3D.

MAPANDGIS includes following functions

  • industrial noise
  • traffic noise
  • air traffic noise
  • environmental noise (VBUS / VBUSCH / VBUI)
  • air pollution

Summary of capabilities of MAPANDGIS

  • GIS user interface
  • leyars technique
  • 3D presentation
  • interactivity between 2D and 3D
  • projection of all 2D layers into a 3D presentation (e.g. noise map or ground map)
  • management of spectra data in a database
  • SQL type filter and selection functions for the analysis of model data
  • import of various vector and pixel formats
  • horizontal and vertical noise maps
  • interpolation of results (noise map)
  • building noise map
  • optimization of noise reduction measures

Standards supported by MAPANDGIS

  • DIN ISO 9613, ISO/TR 17534 (industrial and urban noise)
  • RLS 90 (traffic noise)
  • Schall 03 (railways noise)
  • Lfu-Studie 2007, RLS 90 (parking lots)
  • environmental noise (VBUS/VBUSCH/VBUI) (road, rail, and industry)
